Finland’s MTV Oy And Warner Bros. International Television Distribution Renew Their Multi-Year Free Television Deal

(October 20, 2003 – Helsinki, Finland and Burbank, CA) – MTV Oy in Finland and Warner Bros. International Television Distribution have renewed their multi-year deal which will give the broadcaster the free television rights to several feature films and television series for its MTV3 and Subtv networks. The deal was announced today by Sami Rahnasto, Head of Acquisitions, MTV Oy and Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television. Among the feature films covered in the deal are the enormously popular “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “The Matrix Reloaded” (Keanu Reeves), “Ocean's Eleven” (George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts) and “Swordfish” (John Travolta), to name a few. Among the television series included in the deal are two popular series which debuted this past summer in the States, “The O.C.” and “Nip/Tuck” as well as the upcoming series “Two and a Half Men,” “Cold Case,” “Skin” and “Tarzan,” among others. The deal was negotiated by Mickie Steinmann, Sales Director, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution and Rahnasto. “Warner Bros. is widely regarded as the most creative and reliable Studio in the world,” said Rahnasto. “This year, Warner Bros. Television Production will produce 27 series across all six of the major broadcast networks in States, more than any other program producer in America.
