Diane Nelson Named Executive Vice President, Domestic Marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures
(October 16, 2003 – Burbank, CA) - Diane Nelson has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Domestic Marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures. The announcement was made by Dawn Taubin, President, Domestic Marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures.
Nelson works closely with Taubin in the strategic development and management of the marketing campaigns for the Studio’s feature films, with emphasis on cross-Studio marketing activities. Additionally, Nelson oversees the management of the Harry Potter franchise and represents the Studio's interests with the author of the Harry Potter books, JK Rowling. Her responsibilities will now expand to include the direct reporting of Administration, Domestic Marketing Research, Targeted Marketing, The Idea Place, Strategic Communications, Domestic Marketing Services and National Promotions.

Previously, Nelson was Senior Vice President, Domestic Marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures, a position she assumed in February, 2002, after serving in a variety of marketing positions at Warner Bros. Nelson joined the company as Director of Worldwide Corporate Promotions. She was named Vice President in March, 1998, and in January 2001, was named Senior Vice President, Family Entertainment, Warner Bros. Corporate Worldwide Marketing and Planning.
Prior to joining Warner Bros., Ms. Nelson served as Director of National Promotions for Walt Disney Records, where she worked on such projects as the promotion and marketing of the soundtrack and product line for “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” and the management of national promotions with such corporate sponsors as McDonald’s Proctor & Gamble and Mattel.
Nelson is a graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communications.
