Competitors For 2009 Supergirl Jam Snowboard Rail Jam And Inline Best Trick Contests Announced
(August 31, 2009 – Los Angeles, CA) – On September 6, the top female action sports athletes in snowboarding and inline skating will join their skateboarding counterparts in Venice Beach, CA, for the final stop in the 2009 Supergirl Jam event series. The Supergirl Jam is the action sports industry’s only large-scale, all-girls competition and lifestyle festival designed to promote female empowerment, strength, independence and leadership. The top athletes in skateboarding, snowboarding and inline will be competing for their share of the $36,000 total prize purse and the Supergirl Jam title in their respective sports.
The snowboard rail jam competition will take place on a 35-foot high snowboard mountain that will be created next to the beach with 80,000 pounds of freshly made snow. Two groups of 12 riders will compete in the preliminary round, with the top 12 advancing to a final round. The 12 finalists will compete for the prize purse as well as best trick bragging rights – which comes with a $1,000 bonus.
