"The Clint Eastwood Collection" From Warner Home Video
(May 22, 2000 – Burbank, CA) - It’s going to be a ‘Perfect World’ for Clint Eastwood fans. On July 28, Warner Home Video (WHV) is unleashing the ‘Absolute Power’ of 27 Clint Classics in “The Clint Eastwood Collection.” Branded with “The Clint Eastwood Collection” banner, all single titles in the collection will be available for a limited time only at $14.95 SRP/$9.95 MAP.
Clint Eastwood is one of the most admired American actors with a career that has spanned more than forty years. Audiences have watched him evolve from ‘The Man With No Name’ to an accomplished actor/director honored by the American Film Institute with their Lifetime Achievement Award.
“We are thrilled to celebrate Warner Bros.' long-standing relationship with Clint Eastwood with this stellar collection of titles which pointedly showcases Eastwood’s versatility as an actor and director,” said Mark Horak, WHV senior vice president, marketing.
“The Clint Eastwood Collection” will receive maximum awareness from the multi-million dollar theatrical campaign for the August release of his new film, “Space Cowboys.” Eastwood directs himself in this highly anticipated release about aging Air Force veterans who undertake a dangerous mission in space. The film also features Tommy Lee Jones, James Garner and Donald Sutherland.
Clint’s often imitated, but never duplicated, style will be celebrated with “Clint Eastwood 6-Pack Gift Sets,” priced at just $59.92 SRP (VHS) and $99.92 SRP (DVD) for a limited time only. The set includes: "Dirty Harry," "The Outlaw Josey Wales Special Edition," "Unforgiven" “In the Line of Fire,” (Columbia TriStar Home Video) “Bronco Billy and "The Beguiled" (Universal Home Video). Special six-title VHS and DVD Gift Sets will street on August 1. Orders are due June 27 for Gift Sets and Merchandisers. Single unit orders are due July 5.
“The Outlaw Josey Wales Special Edition,” although not part of the VHS collection, will still be available in collectible packaging. The Special Edition, digitally transferred from newly-restored elements, includes an introduction by Clint Eastwood, a making-of documentary, the original theatrical trailer and a limited-edition collector’s card. It is priced to own at $19.98 SRP.
