Cartoon Network And Warner Bros. Consumer Products Team Up To Present First Cartoon Network-Dedicated Family Entertainment Center In Buenos Aires, Argentina
(September 30, 2004 – Atlanta, GA and Burbank, CA) - Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that they are launching the first Cartoon Network-dedicated family entertainment center in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Cartoon Network World, a new entertainment concept, will arrive in Latin America this month. Isla de la Fantasía, a company that has more than 30 years of experience in developing creatively themed family entertainment centers, will manage Cartoon Network World in the Alto Palermo Shopping Center.
Cartoon Network World transforms the fantasy of Cartoon Network into real life, where kids can experience cartoons first-hand, meet their favorite characters, and feel like participants in the television shows they watch every day. In Cartoon Network World, they can walk on the streets of “The Powerpuff Girls’” Townsville, explore the “Codename: Kids Next Door” Tree House, roam through “Scooby-Doo’s” haunted house, or drive “The Flintstones’” car. The new interactive world will also provide visitors with photo opportunities with Cartoon Network characters, licensed merchandise, a themed snack bar, and a special area for birthday parties.
The Powerpuff Girls interactive area is themed with the characteristic skyline of Townsville, in which children can enter to find different activities, such as access to a giant inflatable slide - adrenalin guaranteed. Kids will also be able to enjoy a giant inflatable Tom & Jerry, where Tom watches over the kids as they play with inflatable objects in a labyrinth of inflatable cheese shapes. Children will also have the unique opportunity to climb in the "Codename: Kids Next Door” Tree House, play on tubes, slides, and ball pens. Each path is different and leads to the houses of the Kids Next Door.
As for everyone’s favorite canine, Scooby-Doo, a mini Mystery Machine allows kids to cruise through a haunted castle, true to the adventures of Shaggy, Scooby and the gang. The Flintmobiles’ grand prix allows kids to ride past the rock quarry and interiors of Fred and Barney’s homes -- truly symbolic of the prehistoric world that represents “The Flintstones.” Finally, the “Ed, Edd, and Eddy” hydraulic merry-go-round ride circulates around a 3-D sculpture of the Ed, Edd and Eddy characters -- the ride spins and rises.
“With Cartoon Network World, we look forward to providing an exciting new entertainment center that our Argentine fans can enjoy,” said Felipe De Stefani, Vice President of Marketing and New Media for Cartoon Network Latin America. “In addition, we believe Isla de Fantasía will do a fantastic job managing the amusement area at the Alto Palermo Shopping Center, a strategic location and one of the most visited shopping malls in the country.”
