From Boutiques To Beaches 2005 Is The Summer Of Tweety

(August 8, 2005 - Burbank, CA) – The cute, fun and mischievous yellow canary of Looney Tunes fame, Tweety, is flying to a beach near you this summer. Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that trend-spotting “Tweety” squad beach teams will be deployed at beaches nationwide to locate girls, ages 13-17, who are interested in becoming fashion-forward Tweety trendsetters. As part of this initiative, teams of young women donning yellow Tweety t-shirts and flip-flops that leave imprints of “Tweety” in the sand, will flock to local beach towns in five markets across the country -- in yellow Tweety-themed VW Bugs -- including The Hamptons in New York; South Beach in Miami; Huntington Beach in Los Angeles; North Avenue Beach in Chicago; Jersey Shore in New Jersey, among others. The teams will distribute fun Tweety items including compacts and yellow beach umbrellas, with the hopes of finding stylish teen girls. Young men who are also part of the squad will be on hand to serve as “umbrella caddies.” The team will recruit members to become Tweety trendsetters by handing out Tweety premiums and inviting them to join the Tweety squad. Interested girls will be added to a team that will be part of an exclusive dialogue with Warner Bros. Consumer Products going forward in order to respond to the fast-changing needs of this important customer segment. Members will also have exclusive access to the tweetysquad.com website, which offers free products, games, Tweety news and more. The beach squad will capture the girls’ information electronically through a PDA. Members who join will be entered into a drawing for a $2,500 American Express gift card. In May, Tweety flew into two of fashion's hottest, trend-setting retailers, Kitson and Scoop. Both upscale retailers carried an exclusive collection of clothing and accessories for women based on the animated icon. The collection celebrated Tweety as a "Natural Blonde" and put a new twist on the age-old adage with the theme "Tweety's Have More Fun!" “From coast to coast, Tweety has been turning heads this summer through the Kitson and Scoop collections,” said Jordan Sollitto, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and International Licensing, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “Beaches are the next venue to platform and to strengthen our communication with the important young girl consumer that Tweety naturally speaks to.” About Warner Bros.
