Barry Ziehl Promoted To Vice President Of Worldwide Public Relations For Warner Bros. Consumer Products
(February 4, 2002 – Burbank, CA) – Barry Ziehl has been promoted to Vice President of Worldwide Public Relations for Warner Bros. Consumer Products, it was announced today by
Karine Joret, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Public Relations, Publicity and Live Events for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
Reporting to Joret, Ziehl will oversee the development and execution of day-to-day public relations activities related to worldwide licensing and marketing, including business and
brand-based activities on all properties represented by Warner Bros. Consumer Products such as Harry Potter, Looney Tunes, The Powerpuff Girls, Scooby-Doo and DC Comics, among others.
“Barry is a seasoned public relations executive and he has done an excellent job guiding key public relations initiatives for the Division, as well as those of licensees worldwide. He is an invaluable member of my team and I’m very pleased to expand his responsibilities,” said Joret. “His promotion is well-earned and as he enters this new chapter of his career, I look forward to his continued success.”
Ziehl’s responsibilities will include overseeing the implementation of comprehensive communications plans and the development of press releases, speeches, media advisories and internal communications in support of licensing, retail and promotional partnerships globally. He will also oversee all public relations activities for key tradeshows worldwide, as well as those related to trade and consumer media relations and events.
Additionally, Ziehl will work with the Division’s extensive network of international offices to oversee all public relations activities initiated by these offices and their partners. This area of responsibility also includes oversight of public relations efforts related to the international Warner Bros. Studio Stores.
Prior to joining Warner Bros. Consumer Products in 1999, Ziehl worked for the U.S. Postal Service at their headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for developing and implementing communications programs for products and services. The campaign he spearheaded for the “Legendary Football Coaches” postage stamps was awarded the highly coveted Silver Anvil Award by the Public Relations Society of America and his work on the successful Bugs Bunny stamp launch first brought him to the attention of Warner Bros. Consumer Products Public Relations in 1996.
