Barry Ziehl Promoted To Senior Vice President Of Worldwide Public Relations And Marketing For Warner Bros. Consumer Products

(June 3, 2008 – Burbank, CA) – Barry Ziehl has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Worldwide Public Relations and Marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), it was announced today by Karen McTier, executive vice president of Domestic Licensing and Worldwide Marketing, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. In this elevated role, Ziehl will continue to drive the global public relations efforts for WBCP and its affiliated entertainment brands, as well as oversee the DC Comics and Franchise Films Marketing group within WBCP. “Serving in a dual role, Barry’s leadership and expertise has consistently resulted in enormous successes for some of our largest brands and theatrical tent pole projects,” said McTier. “Whether it is guiding public relations efforts in support of our brands and businesses, leading WBCP's film marketing efforts or overseeing the myriad of other brands that make up the DC Comics portfolio, Barry’s instincts, creativity and professionalism have firmly established him as an invaluable executive within WBCP and the company-at-large.” Ziehl will maintain his leadership responsibilities for the global development and strategic implementation of public relations activities for worldwide licensing, retail, promotional and marketing initiatives for all properties represented by Warner Bros. Consumer Products. These properties include DC Comics’ Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Supergirl, as well as perennial animated classics such as Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, the Hanna-Barbera library of characters, and film properties like “The Dark Knight,” “Speed Racer,” and Harry Potter. Further, Ziehl continues to spearhead the global DC Comics and Franchise Film marketing efforts on behalf of WBCP, a role he took over two years ago. He will continue to oversee the strategic development and tactical implementation of marketing plans and creative support of WBCP’s licensing, retail and promotional partners working on properties such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl and event films such as “Speed Racer,” “Batman Begins,” and “The Dark Knight.” Prior to joining WBCP in 1999, Barry worked for the U.S. Postal Service at their headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for a variety of award-winning public relations and marketing communications programs.
