The Adventure Begins On March 3rd With The Debut Of The WB’s New Outdoor Series “No Boundaries”
(January 15, 2002 – Pasadena, CA) — Fifteen adventurers will brave more than 2,000 miles of rugged North American terrain in The WB’s new outdoor adventure series “NO BOUNDARIES,” premiering Sunday, March 3 (7:00-8:00 p.m. ET), it was announced today by Jordan Levin, President, Entertainment of The WB. Troy Hartman, a world-ranked skysurfer, X-Games champion and host of MTV’s “Senseless Acts of Video,” has been tapped to host.
For the first time, the identities of the 15 participants are revealed. Ranging in age from 19 to 53, Todd, Kelly, Allen, Rosie, Dustin, Stephanie, Jesse, Sharon, John, Kirsten, Ina, Rob, Jill, Matt and Eli hail from all across North America. More in-depth bios are included at the end of this release.
The exciting “NO BOUNDARIES” expedition will begin on Sunday, March 3 as the 15 participants make their way north from Vancouver Island, B.C. to the Arctic Circle on a 30-day journey through spectacular wilderness that will demand teamwork, leadership and sheer determination. Ultimately, only the most resourceful leader will win the Grand prize of $100,000 cash and a Ford Explorer Sport Trac.
Their journey will include travel by train, commercial fishing boat, seaplane, racing yacht and llama. To claim the grand prize, members will also be required to rock climb; traverse raging river waters in canoes, river rafts and kayaks; rappel down jagged cliffs into a cave system; mountain bike; cross river canyons suspended by cables; hike along the ocean coastline; bushwhack through dense forests and traverse a crevasse-filled glacier.
As host, Hartman will guide these brave souls through the expedition. A former Air Force flight instructor, Hartman won ESPN’s X-Games in skysurfing and scored with Super Bowl viewers when he skysurfed in a Pepsi commercial opposite a flying goose. MTV tapped Hartman as the death-defying host of “Senseless Acts of Video,” in which he performed stunts including jumping out of a 37th-floor window free-falling inside a locked Suzuki Samurai, luring a shark into biting his arm, wake-boarding behind a helicopter, skydiving onto the roof of the Las Vegas Sahara Hotel, and jumping off of a glider onto the top of a moving train.
