The newest chapter of the Mortal Kombat video game marks a triumphant return to the series’ mature presentation and a reinvention of its classic 2D fighting mechanic. Available for the PlayStation3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Mortal Kombat will also introduce a number of new game-play features including tag team, the deeper story mode and nostalgic arcade battle online and offline. Players will be able to choose from an extensive lineup of the game’s iconic warriors and challenge their friends in traditional 1 vs. 1 matches as well as several new game modes. Exclusive to the PlayStation3, fans will be able to take advantage of the game in Stereoscopic 3D.
The movie, “Mortal Kombat” directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil franchise, “Death Race”), stars Christopher Lambert (“Greystroke,” Highlander franchise), Robin Shou (“Death Race”), and Bridgette Wilson (“The Wedding Planner”). “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation” stars Robin Shou, Talisa Soto (“LaMission,” “Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever”), James Remar (TV’s “Dexter,” “Vampire Diaries”) and Irina Pantaeva (“Zoolander”), and is directed by John R. Leonetti (“Piranha,” “The Mask”).
