“Bam’s X-Mas X-Capade” - Holiday Comedy Starring MTV’s Bam Margera Starts Production In Finland And U.S.
(May 15, 2008 – Burbank, CA) – MTV personality and professional skateboarder Bam Margera attempts to find the truth about Santa in “Bam’s X-mas X-capade,” the new made-for-DVD comedy which Warner Home Video will release this coming December. Production began in Finland last month and is currently continuing in West Chester, Pa. through the end of May.
“Bam’s X-mas X-capade” is being produced by Terry Hardy and directed by Joe DeVito. The film stars Bam Margera (MTV’s “Viva La Bam,” “Jackass”) and his cast of misfits Brandon Novak, Joe Frantz and Mark Hanna as they travel to Finland to find Bam’s wife, Missy the perfect Christmas gift and find an answer to the age-old question: Does Santa really exist?
In making the announcement, Jeff Baker, WHV’s Executive Vice President and General Manager, Theatrical Catalog, said, “Bam and his unique body of work has turned him into a tremendous franchise with a huge grassroots following and youthful fan base. In addition to his athletic prowess, Bam has become, and continues to be, a true innovator across a number of entertainment fields -- film, television and music. His creativity and influence among younger audiences worldwide is reflected in the enormous success of the ‘Jackass’ movies as well as the huge audience attendance at his personal appearance tours.”
About Bam Margera
Bam first broke onto the national scene as a 13-year-old pro-skater known for his creative street style and wild antics. As a teenager, he created the CKY video series, which featured skating, pranks and stunts -- all filmed in his hometown of West Chester, Pa. The combination of Bam’s unique on-screen personality and the tremendous grassroots success of the CKY video series became the platform for MTV’s “Jackass” and the highly successful theatrical releases “Jackass: The Movie” and “Jackass Number Two.” Bam then went on to star in MTV’s “Viva La Bam” and Bam’s “Unholy Union” which he also produced and directed.
In addition to Bam’s television and film projects, he continues to be heavily involved in the music industry through his directing work on music videos, his record label “Filthy Note,” his show “Radio Bam” on Sirius Satellite Radio and his “Viva La Bands” CD/DVD series and tour.
A tribute to his athlete superstardom, Bam’s merchandise is one of the best selling signature series in action sports.
As James Montgomery of MTV.com notes, “Kids love Bam because he is ‘real,’ a hooligan with a wanton disregard for authority and his own well-being. He’s kind of like a supersized version of the cool older brother who skates, has a few bust-ups with the cops, is frequently shirtless, hangs out in the basement and plays you all the killer records.”
Says Margera, “I think people like what’s going on with every project I do because they know its real. I use exactly the music I like and the people I want involved and that’s why it works. Sometimes you have to pick and choose your battles, but for the most part, I listen to my own voice and have my own visions of how I want my movies to look.”
