“The Mentalist: The Complete Second Season” On DVD September 21 From Warner Home Video
(June 16, 2010 - Burbank, CA) – Get a clue and crack the case with the release of “The Mentalist: The Complete Second Season” on DVD September 21, 2010 from Warner Home Video. Starring Simon Baker (nominated for lead actor Emmy® and Golden Globe® Awards in 2009 and 2010, respectively, for his role as Patrick Jane), Robin Tunney, Tim Kang, Owain Yeoman and Amanda Righetti, “The Mentalist” will have fans “dying” to own the hit series that balances nimble humor with dark thrills. In addition to all 23 one-hour episodes, this five-disc collector’s set contains over an hour and half of never-before-seen extras, including deleted scenes; the “Mentalism: A Subliminal Art” featurette, providing an inside look on how mentalists really work; and “Art of the Mentalist,” with insights from Executive Producer/Director Chris Long on making an episode.
“The Mentalist: The Complete Second Season” is priced to own at $59.98 SRP with an order due date of August 17, 2010.
California Bureau of Investigation consultant Patrick Jane (Simon Baker in his Emmy®-nominated role) exhibits a blatant lack of protocol but is self-assured and driven. The former “psychic” uses his talent for seeing the clues everyone else misses to solve the most baffling crimes. But there’s more than crime that makes this season a must-see: Lisbon and Cho reveal hints about their troubled pasts; violence fells one CBI boss, and the new boss seems more interested in authority than teamwork; and as the Van Pelt-Rigsby relationship heats up, it threatens to cool down their careers.
“Ranking number one in its timeslot, the series’ ratings have remained strong and grown throughout the season,” said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV & Special Interest Marketing. “‘The Mentalist’ is one of television’s most-watched scripted shows and we are looking forward to distributing this DVD just in time for the third season premiere.”
“The Mentalist” was created by Bruno Heller (HBO’s Emmy® Award–winning "Rome"), who executive produces along with Chris Long ("Gilmore Girls"). The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television.
