The Shawshank Redemption Celebrates 25 Years

The Stephen King Classic Returns to Theaters

"Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies," quotes Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) in a letter to Red (Morgan Freeman) in "The Shawshank Redemption".

We know one good thing and is the fact that "The Shawshank Redemption" celebrates 25 years since its initial release on September 23, 1994.

A classic and an all-time favorite, "The Shawshank Redemption" shows us that there is hope left in humanity amidst the suffering and unjust we face. Based on the 1982 Stephen King novel titled "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption", this movie showcases its ability to reach audiences of all ages and backgrounds. 

Freeman told Vanity Fair "About everywhere you go, people say, 'The Shawshank Redemption'—greatest movie I ever saw. Just comes out of them."

Robbins, co-star of the film, notes that "When I met [Nelson Mandela], he talked about loving Shawshank."
