Kansas City Bomber

Original Theatrical Date: August 2, 1972

Baseball has its Bull Durham. Basketball has Hoosiers. Football has Rudy. And the mad sport of roller derby has Kansas City Bomber! Step aside, boys, she's coming through.

In the early Seventies, the roller game was the hottest thing on wheels when this smash-mouth spin-fest elbowed its way onto screens. Legendary Hollywood bombshell Raquel Welch plays K.C., a single mom (a young Jodie Foster plays her daughter) who laces up to earn a living for her family.

Real competition venues provide settings and some true-life roller-game stars appear in the film. Welch adds to the authenticity, navigating the banked oval like a rocket-powered bumper car. Round and round she goes. Where she stops may be the top of the roller world!

Genre: DramaAction/Adventure
