Hearts of the West
Original Theatrical Date: October 8, 1975
An Iowa farm boy and would-be Western novelist blazes a trail across the barren wastes of Hollywood and Vine!
Jeff Bridges stars as Lewis Tater, who after numerous rejections of his novels, in 1933 enrolls in a correspondence course to learn about the West. But when, in his eagerness to learn, he travels to Nevada, Tater learns that the school is a fraud run by criminals.
Now, with the crooks after him, Tater lands a job on a low-budget Western movie shoot—and wins the heart of its beautiful young script coordinator (Blythe Danner). But there are still con men, crooks, stunts and real-life shoot-outs in store for the aspiring cowboy novelist in this charming and hilarious homage to Hollywood's 1930s-era "B" Westerns.
