Going Hollywood

Original Theatrical Date: December 22, 1933

Legendary movie stars Marion Davies and Bing Crosby create true movie magic in this magnificent musical treat!

Bored school teacher Sylvia Bruce (Davies) is disenchanted with life until she hears the incredible crooning of egomaniacal radio personality Bill Williams (Crosby). Hopelessly love-struck, Sylvia has no choice but to follow Bill to Hollywood, where he is to make his next film, and hilariously work her way on to the set—and into his life.

Some pretty fancy footwork, both on stage and off, eventually lands Sylvia the lead role in the film and the man of her dreams. But being as much a realist as she is a romantic, Sylvia does not start tapping down Love Street until she is sure that Bill truly understands the meaning of love that he is so used to singing about.

With lavish production numbers, excellent comic support by Patsy Kelly and Ned Sparks and a hilarious spoof of then-current radio programs, Going Hollywood, is one charming musical that will get you going.

Genre: Music/Musicals
