Stage 13 at Sundance Film Festival

"High & Mighty" Debuts in New Category

Stage 13’s original web series comedy High & Mighty debuted this week at the annual Sundance Film Festival in the all-new “Indie Episodic” category. Created and written by Cesar Mazariegos (a graduate of the Warner Bros. Workshop program and current writer on Deception), High & Mighty is directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada, who was recently spotlighted in Variety as one of “10 Directors To Watch.” The series already won the “Audience Award for Web Series” at the L.A. Film Festival this past summer. Stage 13 is the digital platform under the Warner Bros. Digital Network division that showcases a new generation of talent in scripted and unscripted storytelling.

The critically acclaimed stoner comedy follows the lovable lush Chelo Chavez, who is shocked to discover that he may have super powers… but only when he’s drunk or high. With the help of his two homies, and his smart-mouth little sister, he’s out to test these new powers, and find out how the hell he got them in the first place. The digital series stars a solid cast of established character actors including Jorge Diaz (The Long Road Home, East Los High), James Eckhouse (The Avengers, S.W.A.T., All The Way, Beverly Hills 90210), Shakira Barrera (Glow, Rosewood) and Chelsea Rendon (Bright, Vida).

The final Sundance screening of High & Mighty, along with a Q&A session, takes place at 9:45pm tonight at Broadway Centre Cinema 3 in Salt Lake City.
