Make It a WB Summer

With the official start of summer  kicking off today, we thought we’d highlight the Warner Bros. theatrical slate—as well as a handful of original animation releases you’ll be able to catch on your own screen(s). Here’s a quick guide to what’s coming at you until the annual outdoor season fades into autumn at the end of September.  

At the Movies

Wonder Woman
In Theaters Now
Currently in only its fourth week of release, the global phenomenon continues into the summer. Starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, and helmed by director Patty Jenkins, the Wonder continues.

The House
In Theaters June 30
In this comedy from New Line Cinema, Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler bring down the house when they start an illegal casino in the suburban home of their neighbor (Jason Mantzoukas). 

Dunkirk
In Theaters July 21
Written and directed by iconic filmmaker Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception), this epic action thriller tells the amazing story of British allied troops who are surrounded by the German Army on the beaches of Dunkirk during the early part of WWII.

Annabelle: Creation
In Theaters August 11
The sequel to 2014’s Annabelle, this is also the fourth film from The Conjuring cinematic universe created by acclaimed director/producer James Wan. This time out, director David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) heads up the horrifying saga of the possessed doll.

IT
In Theaters September 8
Stephen King’s classic novel finally comes to the big screen this summer. When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie
In Theaters September 22
This new animated comedy adventure from Warner Bros. Pictures’ LEGO franchise features the legendary Jackie Chan, Justin Theroux, Dave Franco, Olivia Munn, Michael Pena and Fred Armisen in a battle over NINJAGO City.

Special Summer Screening

Bonnie and Clyde
In Theaters August 13 and 16
This special two-night theatrical screening celebrates the 50^th anniversary of this groundbreaking 1967 classic starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway as the ill-fated bank-robbing duo. Get tickets now.

In this re-telling of the classic Roald Dahl story, your favorite cat-and-mouse duo are along for the ride in this new film from Warner Bros. Animation.

LEGO Scooby-Doo: Blowout Beach Bash
July 11 on Digital / July 25 on Blu-ray and DVD
Warner Bros. Animation and LEGO join forces for two films of family fun this summer. First up is Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Machine crew who have their beach party interrupted by a few pirate ghosts who aren’t looking for a good time.

LEGO DC Super Hero Girls: Brain Drain
July 25 on Digital / August 8 on DVD
Following closely on the heels of LEGO Scooby-Doo comes this LEGO version of the hugely popular DC Super Hero Girls. This is the first time these family-friendly girls get the LEGO treatment, but we have the sneaking suspicion it won’t be the last.

Batman and Harley Quinn
August 15 on Digital / August 29 on Blu-ray and DVD
On the more mature side of our animated release schedule comes this eagerly anticipated original movie, rated PG-13, in which Batman and Nightwing are forced to enlist the help of Harley Quinn in this wild action adventure with a nice dose of comedy thrown in for good measure. You have never seen Batman quite like this before.
