Golden Globe, SAG and Grammy Nominations

Announcing Our Nominees

It’s that time of year again when the onslaught of award nominations start spreading like wildfire. This week marked the first salvo as the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild and the Grammys all announced the nominees for their 2016 ceremonies. Here's to this year's nominees:

Golden Globe Awards

The 2016 Golden Globes will be held on January 10, when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association presents its awards to winners in 25 categories (14 in film and 11 in television). Three-time host Ricky Gervais will return to emcee the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The show will be telecast live on NBC at 5 p.m. (PST).

For our nominees this year, the Globes recognized two people who returned to roles they started many years ago. Director George Miller received a nod for his return to the Mad Max saga that he started back in 1979, and Sylvester Stallone was nominated for his return to the Rocky Balboa character in the current theatrical smash, Creed. Stallone created Balboa 40 years ago in 1976, when Rocky won both the Oscar and the Golden Globe.
