Wonder Woman First Look

75 Years in the Making

First was the mystery of who could possibly fill Wonder Woman's boots. Director Zack Snyder answered that question when he cast Gal Gadot in the role of a lifetime as the Amazonian princess in 2016's upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Of the character and Gadot's casting Snyder remarked:

Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.

Next the world wondered what the big screen Wonder Woman would look like. Fans were treated to a dramatic unveiling of her Batman v Superman costume at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, which became the talk of the convention.

Finally we saw Wonder Woman in action when the highly-anticipated BvS first trailer was released in April.

Following her turn in Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman will be heading up a feature film of her own and Gadot tweeted out the first look at the super hero on Sunday along with the caption "Almost 75 years in the making...#WonderWoman is underway."

Now filming in London, Wonder Woman appears hooded (is she hiding from someone?) in her gauntlets and tiara with Big Ben prominently featured in the background. The photo swept the internet with even Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson retweeting.

Wonder Woman will also star Chris Pine as Captain Steve Trevor, Robin Wright, Danny Huston and is being directed by Patty Jenkins and is set to open in 2017.
