#TBT: Guy Ritchie

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. director Guy Ritchie is today's Throwback Thursday guest. Ritchie is well-known for his crime heist movies, directing his first feature length film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in 1998. He had a high-profile romance and marriage to Madonna, with whom he worked on several projects, though they tended not to be critical or commercial successes.

In 2008 Ritchie and Madonna divorced (they had two children together during their marriage) and he went on to write and direct the crime comedy RocknRolla, with the film hitting #1 at the UK box office in its first week of release. Ritchie's star continued to rise as he directed Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in the 2009 box office hit Sherlock Holmes, which spawned a sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows in 2011.

Now anticipation is rising as fans await the release of the stylish Cold War spy film The Man from U.N.C.L.E. starring Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, which opens in theaters August 14.

The director recently married his longtime girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley, who is also the mother to three of his children. He shared several snaps of the wedding festivities on his Instagram account, including an advance screening of the film!

Ritchie will also be directing the upcoming epic King Arthur, which is set to hit theaters July 22, 2016.
