Colin Farrell Joins "Fantastic Beasts..."
Colin Farrell (Winter's Tale, Horrible Bosses) is the next actor to sign on with the Wizarding World in J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He will join Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, who will be portraying magizoologist Newt Scamander and Katherine Waterston, who joined the cast in June and will appear as Tina (short for Porpentina).
Farrell will take on the role of the wizard Graves who meets Scamander on his travels in New York. The film is a prequel of sorts to the Harry Potter series, taking place some 80 years before and centers around Scamander's travels as he documents the Wizarding World and all the Fantastic Beats within. He eventually authors a detailed Hogwarts textbook which our beloved future heroes (Harry, Hermione and Ron) will refer to frequently.
David Yates, who directed previous Potter films Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I & II is directing. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to hit theaters November 18, 2016.
