Happy Birthday, Judy Garland
Today we're remembering the talented Hollywood legend Judy Garland who would have turned 93 today. A Minnesota native with wholesome good looks and a dreamy, smooth singing voice Garland (born Frances Ethel Gumm) demonstrated a flair for show business when she stepped on stage at the tender age of two-and-a-half with her sisters and performed a rendition of "Jingle Bells" at her parent's movie theater. As a young woman she went on to star in a string of movies and shorts for MGM in the mid-1930s, including three of the popular Mickey Rooney Andy Hardy films. She may be best remembered as the wide-eyed, innocent Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz but her career truly spanned her much-too-short life. She passed away at the age of 47 in London, England. Her legacy and body of work will continue to inspire fans for lifetimes to come as they look to her somewhere "Over the Rainbow."
We hope you enjoy this brief look back at some of Garland's best-known and most beloved work.
