Pottermore.com Keeps Spirit Alive
As part of a Christmas celebration for Harry Potter fans, starting Friday, December 12 thru December 23, Pottermore.com will be releasing a wonderland of brand new writing from Potter author J.K. Rowling, including Florean Fortescue’s ghost plot to her thoughts on the sneaky Slytherin Draco Malfoy.
This past October, Rowling wrote more than 5,000 words of new Harry Potter content for the site, including her personal opinions on the character of Dolores Umbridge, a teacher at Hogwarts whom she compared to Lord Voldemort because of her "desire to control, to punish, and to inflict pain, all in the name of law and order." Rowling also noted that Umbridge was based on two real-life people she had encountered.
Pottermore.com was launched to the public in April of 2012 as a website dedicated to the re-telling of the Harry Potter stories in an interactive way, as well as revealing unknown parts of the series through Rowling's participation, including her thoughts and unpublished text.
