Screen legend Kirk Douglas stars in this drama about the life of an ambitious Hollywood producer, as seen through the eyes of a writer, a director, and an actress.

Nominated for six Oscars, it won five, including "Best Screenplay." Douglas was nominated for "Best Actor," Gloria Grahame received an Oscar for "Best Supporting Actress," and Lana Turner delivered what many consider to be her finest performance as Douglas' actress lover.

Directed by Academy Award winner Vincente Minnelli (Gigi, An American in Paris), The Bad and the Beautiful was produced by acclaimed actor/producer John Houseman, and was also inducted into the Library of Congress National Film Registry.
